This is a BRILLIANT book. If you are applying for ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) or Citizenship then you have to take an exam to show that you know about life here, what happens, what laws are, what the population break down is and generally about the culture and way of life. My husband had to take this test and in order to study for it, bought this book and read it. It's really not a hard read, it's set out into easy chapters and you need to read chapters 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 and that's it. But the best thing of all about this book is the fact that in a tuck-in attached to the back page is a CD which gives you the chance to test what you have learned with actual questions from the test itself. Chuck it into your computer and away you go. You can choose to test yourself on any one of the chapters or you can choose to take a test with a selection of questions from all the chapters, which is basically like taking the test itself. So you can practice and see where you are weak and which parts you have done, and it's a real help and my husband worked pretty hard in reading and testing himself for about two weeks and passed the test - with 100% pass! It's a brilliant buy and the best thing we ever bought. You have to pay £10 for the Government version of this book and it's just a book, no test CD so make the most of this EXCELLENT offer and get that test passed!! K.S.
