Study CDs from 2007 still valid?

If you bought a CD from WH Smith or other bookshop in the UK and are wondering whether it is still valid for tests in 2011, please read further.

All our publications contain the Second Edition study syllabus (chapters 2 to 6) and are currently valid for 2011 tests.

In March 2007 the Home Office revised the study material and changed it from chapters 2 to 4 to include chapters 5 and 6. This was called 'Second Edition' test.

The label on the outside of our CD-ROM 9780955485329 may say 2007 - this was when the CD was released (April 2007). The study material included on the CD is chapters 2 to 6 (Life in the United Kingdom - A Journey to Citizenship : second edition) and is valid for 2011 tests.

From time to time the Home Office change their publication to meet changes in Laws etc. These changes are noted in our updates section and in reprints of our publications. However, any changes in law are not included in the test questions as the Home Office don't expect candidates to know when a Law has changed. Therefore the study material syllabus has to be studied only.

Updates

If you have purchased a publication from us and need further information about updates, please visit this page.

Important note

Our practice tests on CD/DVD and handbooks are not to be relied upon as the sole method of studying for the test. They are designed to make the candidate refer back to the study material. Therefore the study material should be studied first, and then the practice tests taken to assist with revision only.
