Update instructions

To check if there are any updates, please follow these instructions:

1. First install the software you have downloaded.
2. Close the software if you have this open.
3. Go to Start menu icon located on bottom left-hand side of your PC (see image below).
4. Go to All Programs
5. Look for a yellow folder called Life in the UK Test.
6. Open the folder called 'Get Updates'.
7. Click on 'Check for New Update'.
8. If there are new updates, these will be downloaded and installed.

Our publications are valid for current tests (2012). The study material syllabus has not changed since 2007. In July 2007, the Home Office changed the study material from chapters 2 to 4 to include chapters 5 and 6. This is known as the Second Edition test. No changes have been made since, but we believe that new changes are coming in 2012 to include historical facts in the study material and tests. There is no fixed date of exactly when this will happen. So the sooner you take the test, the better!

Our publications and website will be updated as and when these changes occur. Lancaster and Coull Publishers' software is provided with free updates. Please follow instructions given to you by email.
